Made with Xara Web Designer Copyright October, 2010: Men’s Newcomers Club From the Presidents chair: Your Men's Newcomers Club Board is looking forward to facilitating another informative and fun year.  Our first luncheon is scheduled for September 15 as we kick off our year with more good food, an informative speaker, and most importantly the opportunity to renew old friendships and make many new ones. As in the past, the Club will provide a welcoming environment for both new and long-time residents to encourage the forming of new friendships and to learn about our lovely community.  The Board has voted to institute a policy of a "free lunch" for guests of existing members.  We only ask that the Member's luncheon reservation should include notice of any planned guest, so we can arrange for the proper number of meals.  We hope this will encourage existing members to bring guests to discover what our Club is all about. Plans are moving forward for many great tours during the year.  Our first is scheduled for October 18 to Kings Bay Terminal to tour a nuclear submarine.  I had the good fortune of getting to go on this trip two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the U.S.S. Rhode Island.  The behind-the-scenes tour of our U.S. Navy was fascinating!  Members who have not previously had the opportunity to visit Kings Bay Terminal will be given first consideration to join this tour.  We have also scheduled a visit to the White Oaks animal preserve on November 2.  This one-of-a-kind nature preserve is a highlight of our area.  There will be many more exciting and educational tours on a monthly basis, so stay tuned for future plans. Luncheons  The cost of lunch is $15.00 for early reservations and $17.00 thereafter.   Early reservations must be made by the Saturday prior to the Thursday’s meeting.  Early reservations are made by contacting Bob Keane (904-277-4590)  Early reservations cancellations must be made no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to the Thursday’s meeting not to incur a $15.00 charge  Reservations make after the Saturday prior to the Thursday’s meeting and attendees without reservations, paying at the door, will be charged $17.00.
